Red Strawberry Cavey drops this Thursday!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Edit: All the Red Strawberry Caveys are now sold out, thanks to everyone who bought one! If you missed out this time around don’t fret – you can still get a Pink Strawberry Cavey by entering the Cavey Art Competition! :)

Red Strawberry Cavey will be available exclusively through the A Little Stranger shop on Thursday September 2nd at 7:00pm GMT. (When the countdown timer on the right hand menu runs out – see the google world clock if you are unsure of what this is in your time zone) Red Strawberry Cavey is limited to 22 numbered pieces, is £12 and comes with a drawstring bag and a Cavey badge. All Caveys are handmade with love.

Cavey has been extremely popular, due to their limited nature the last release sold out in minutes! Having the item in your cart does not reserve it, an order is only complete when payment is made; so until your item is paid for it is still counted as available stock. To avoid disappointment i’ve got a few hints for making sure your checkout is as quick as possible:

  • Sign up for an account at the A Little Stranger shop ahead of time.
  • Bookmark the shop listing for Strawberry Cavey. It will go live Thursday September 2nd at 7:00pm GMT, please refresh your browser then.
  • If you want to order a Cavey tote/buttons/stickers put these in your cart ahead of time.
  • Paypal only, please. No cheques, e-cheques or cash.
  • I will be tweeting a count-down in the run up to the shop page going live, so follow me! @heycavey

In the unlikely event you receive an out of stock email this means your purchase has not be successful, any payment taken will be automatically refunded within 24 hours.

Some photos from the second half of our US trip. We spent an afternoon at the Getty, went to Hooters, ate junky food and met a moose. A lot of excitement for one little Cavey! See more pictures of Cavey in the US in American Roadtrip: Part 1, and his video tour of Universal Studios.

Cavey on Toybreak

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Episode 132 of Toy Break features me Ayleen, George and Scott talking about toys from SDCC. Scott’s talks us through his Comic-con haul and I’m talking Cavey, including some soon never before seen Caveys! I also pick the winner for the Toy Break forum Cavey contest!

This video is following a lovely evening and delicious dinner at the Counter with Ayleen, George and the Tolleson family, which was seriously the best burger i’ve ever eaten! I need to go back to LA as soon as possible just so i can eat there again :) Biggest of ups to Toy Break for having me on the show and letting me snoop through their toy collection!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you to everyone who made the last Cavey launch such a success, both Ninja and Unicorn Cavey’s sold out in 2 minutes! While i’m excited beyond belief that Cavey keeps selling out so quickly I feel bad for those who weren’t quick enough to get one. Red Strawberry Cavey is limited to 22 numbered pieces and will be available exclusively through the A Little Stranger shop on Thursday September 2nd at 7:00pm GMT. (see the google world clock if you are unsure of what this is in your time zone) All Caveys are handmade with love. Pink Strawberry Cavey is limited to only 2 pieces. One is a competition prize and the other will be up for grabs in an eBay auction.

Video: Universal Studios, review by Cavey

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Cavey gives you his review of Universal Studios, Hollywood in this new video. It seems Universal is quite the scary place for a creature so small! I love making these little videos, if you enjoyed this then check out more Cavey videos on Cavey’s youtube channel.

Caveys American Roadtrip: Part 1

Friday, August 13th, 2010

After a couple of days in San Diego it was time to head up the coast for 2 weeks in LA. We took a beautiful drive down the coast and the closer we got to LA the hotter and sunnier it got, by the time we were nearly there we couldn’t resist stopping off at the beach for a couple of hours. LA is gorgeous and so full of fun stuff to do, it was wonderful to have so much time there. The first week we caught up with friends, went to the beach and ate a lot (a LOT!) and we went to the movies too, and saw Inception which i loved, but not as much as i loved the butter popcorn you lot have over there. Omg it’s so good, butter popcorn where have you been all my life?!

There was an adorable 50’s themed diner near where we were staying, all the walls were covered with magazines and posters from the era – a lot of them for scary underwear, diet pills and wigs. I loved looking at all the old adverts for cigarettes where they make smoking sound like its healthy :) We had the best breakfast there, and Cavey enjoyed hiding amongst the busy decor.

Super Duper Caped Cavey at SDCC 2010

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

So i’ve just about come back down to earth after Comic-Con, time to share some pictures, right? Super Duper Caped Cavey felt like a little superstar and got oooh and ahhhh’d over all day. It was very strange having people come up to me having recognised me off the internet, its only happened once while living in England, back in the day of MySpace when i used to have giant plastic hair so i probably was pretty recognisable anyway ;)

Comic-Con was insane! I knew it was going to be big but nothing could have prepared me for quite how giant and busy it was! After flying into LAX at 11:30 we had a quick sleep in our super lush hotel room there before getting up at the crack of dawn (I was too excited to sleep and woke Jonjo up at some ungodly hour, it felt like Christmas!) getting our car and driving to San Diego, dumping out stuff at the hotel and going straight to Con, so excuse my tired face!

Everyone we met was so sweet and friendly, we were so busy all day meeting people and looking at amazing stuff, by the time it closed I was absolutely buzzing and my face ached from smiling all day. I can’t wait to come back for the whole thing next year!

DayThe first thing we see when we get to ComicCon, a giant Uglydoll, yes!

At the Munky King Omi booth I was invited to customise one of the Omi’s for the wall. I picked the one with the round ears because i thought he looked a bit like a Cavey :) The next week when we were in LA the whole board of Omi’s from the Con was in the Munky King Store so it was nice to see mine again! All the omi designs are really nice, a good size to work on and I love the way they plug together to form one solid piece – can’t wait to get my hands on one to do a proper custom.

Twins :)

DayCan you spot him?

Meow!

"Do not touch"Underneath was a sign saying “do not touch” yeah, i’m badass :P

He was friendlier than he looked :)

And if you had the misfortune to meet me at Comic-Con i probably made you pose for a picture with Cavey. :)   Other lovely people who i met but was too over-excited to remember to take a picture: Jon “Spanky” Stokes of Spankystokes.com, The Triclops lads, Ray of Dragatomi, J★Ryu (who’s ghost girl custom was even more breathtaking in the flesh), Jamie of KollectibleKulture.com, and many many more, I feel bad cause i’ve probably missed a bunch of people out, im not a meanie i promise, my brain just got overloaded.

With Chris RyniakWith Chris Ryniak who saw me in the crowd and came to say hi, he was lovely

With Frank KozikWith Frank Kozik who is so friendly IRL, the grumpy face is just for the camera :)

With Scott TollesonWith Scott Tolleson

With Podgy PandaWith Rich “PodgyPanda

With George & Ayleen of Toy BreakWith George and Ayleen of Toy Break

That night we went out to eat at a mexican place in the Gaslamp quarter, the food was great and the bar was so fun we ended up staying there all night!  I wish i could remember what the place was called, they had a zillion types of tequila and everyone was really sweet and friendly. We made a lot of friends that night and Cavey made good friends with the awesome barmaid :)
